Garhy Agencies and Contracting Office (GACO) was founded in 1986 with a vision to remain at the cusp of cutting edge technology in the field of mechanical engineering. Within a decade of its establishment GACO had completed several mega projects in the field of Heating, Ventilating & Air Conditioning (HVAC), quickly establishing itself as a specialist EPC contractor for projects with complex HVAC specifications.

In 1997 GACO sought to expand into firefighting ventures, thus establishing a strategic business partnership with Ansul; one of the world's leading manufacturers of automatic fire fighting systems. In light of our commitment to maintaining an edge in the national and regional market GACO's engineering management enrolled in a three-month training course at Ansul's headquarters in the USA in order to grasp the intricacies of automatic fire fighting systems design and installation. GACO is proud to have been one of the first in the Egyptian market to have qualified personnel who fully design and install fixed automatic foam systems, low pressure carbon dioxide firefighting systems and a variety of other systems that use other clean agents. We are also proud to have been the first Egyptian company to fully design and install Inergen firefighting systems that do not require personnel evacuation in case of fire.

To offer our clients an extensive range of top quality products GACO boosted its expertise by forging business relations with Otis - France and Schindler – Switzerland. To install elevators in accordance with international specifications as well as codes of accessibility.

In a bid to accommodate our clients' needs, however challenging they are, GACO continues to strive to offer holistic mechanical solutions. In 1999 GACO became the sole agent of 2H Energy-Iveco, a leading French manufacturer of diesel generators, in Egypt. GACO appreciates that in industry time is money, which is why our diesel generators work simultaneously with the available electric network. Thus in the event of a blackout the transition from the available electric network to our generators is rapid and smooth requiring no down time in production

In 2009 GACO scoured the globe for new diversification opportunities and reaped the benefits offered by an expanding network of international contacts. After visiting the Canton Fair in China GACO is collaborating with GALANZ, China's largest exporter of split air conditioners, to offer affordable air conditioning that conforms with the highest performance standards.

Also in 2009 GACO, decided to outline its commitment to the environment by making a strategic decision to go green in the 21st century. As ever GACO demonstrated its zeal to embrace ground breaking innovation by agreeing to introduce green energy efficient air conditioning units to the Egyptian and Middle Eastern markets after unearthing this latest cutting-edge technology in the ASHRAE conference which was held in Chicago, USA. A separate business unit was set up to incorporate these latest two additions into the range of GACO products. After more than 30 years in the market, the journey of exponential expansion and ground-breaking innovation continues.
